I first knew something was wrong when I was a teenager and I was bleeding more than I should. The pain was intolerable and, while on my period, I couldn’t function. My doctor told me I had two wombs, two vaginas, and two cervices. There were times when I had to wear Depends because tampons and pads weren’t enough.”  More from CafeMom: 10 Common Reasons Sex Hurts for Women & How to Fix Them She goes on to detail how she suffered several miscarriages as a result of her unique anatomy. Finally, she made the tough but necessary decision to undergo a double hysterectomy.  Clearly, what Nicci has dealt with over the years is nothing short of heartwrenching, but it’s so wonderful to hear that she’s been able to pinpoint a solution that will serve her best. She and her husband have also made peace with the fact that undergoing the surgery meant she would not be able to conceive. They hope to adopt down the road. After what Nicci’s been through, here’s hoping her future is increasingly bright — and healthy!  More from CafeMom: 5 Unmistakable Signs You’ve Ignored Your Health for Too Long If you want to hear more of her story, here’s a clip from the documentary.
