The provide comfort for other parents in similar situations and insight to rest of the world. Over the years, I’ve come across some amazing ones, and following are ten of my favorites. This list is in no way comprehensive or a ranking of any sort, as I know there are plenty of others out there. These are just some of the best. Even when it seems like baby is interested in food before then, often they’re just interested in mimicking you, and would copy you putting something in your mouth the same way they’d copy putting your hairbrush on your head — just copying, not intestinal lining cellular changes, the thing we’re really waiting for. There are very good reasons to delay solids until at least 6 months … It’s recommended by the World Health Organization, UNICEF, The American Academy of Family Physicians, National Health & Medical Research Council, and many prominent pediatricians....
I mean, seriously, couldn’t they keep that shit at camp where it belongs? It’s the equivalent of giving a preschooler a drum-set as a birthday present. You just don’t do it. Period. What else don’t I want other people giving my children? Read on. Play Doh. My kids love making spaghetti and snowmen and ice cream out of it. I don’t so much share their enthusiasm as I scrub it out of carpets and seat cushions for weeks after....
Seriously, it’s so unfair. Even if we work our butt off in the gym and lose every single last ounce of baby weight, we’re still left with zebra stripes all up and down our bellies — putting the “mom” stamp on our bodies for the rest of our lives.
