Whether I’m purchasing that warming lubricant that doubles as a massage gel or an economy-sized box of tampons, I feel like I’m back in high school and buying ribbed condoms or getting spermicidal jelly for my diaphragm. Back then, the cashier and other people in line knew that I was having premarital sex. That was bad enough. Now, they’re thinking I’m a sex-crazed mother and wife who hasn’t gone through menopause yet....

So I do what any mom in my position would do. (Though I feel like I’m the only one sometimes.) I let my kid pee in public. Behind a bush. Next to a tree. In the dirt, all tidy like as best as can be. I figure dogs can do it, why can’t kids? I know we’re not animals, but when you’re a kid and you have to go, you have to go....

No, really. According to recent data, the average American woman wears a size 16. And so do I; depending on the brand and the item of clothing, I wear between a 12 and 16. You’d think that being average would make it easy to shop. You’d think that having a body type like the majority of women in the US would mean that the majority of stores would have things in your size....

Every stinkin’ October for the past seven years, I’ve woken up to find a goody bag full of Halloween treats on my doorstep. There’s also a white piece of paper with a ghost on it that I’m supposed to copy, cut out, and then stuff into two separate goody bags that I have to put together and “secretly” leave on two of my neighbors’ doorsteps so they can continue to spread the boo love throughout our development....

Despite the drastic difference, this milk didn’t come from different moms or different times. “It was pumped all in one session, from one breast only,” Elisabeth, who is a pumping advocate and mom of two, tells CafeMom. Despite the jarring difference in appearance, she explained that breast milk can have a broad color span of most differences that moms come across are completely normal. “Foremilk can have a blue tint to it as it is lacking in the heavier fat content of hindmilk,” she wrote on her Faceboook page, One Ounce At A Time....

The American Psychological Association describes postpartum depression (PPD) as a “serious mood disorder” that “can make it hard for you to get through the day, and it can affect your ability to take care of your baby, or yourself.” They also note that PPD can happen to any women, regardless of how easy their pregnancy was, their age, their ethnicity, or their income. The symptoms and severity of PPD can vary from woman to woman, so we asked some brave moms to share their stories of what PPD really feels like....

Those stories are lies. Lies, I tell you. And I’ve come to hate them. Because my second pregnancy is WAY harder than my first. The irony of all this is thick and multi-layered. I am expecting a boy this time; my first is a girl (boys are supposed to bring mommies easier pregnancies, if you believe those unfair myths about baby girls). I have been declared “complication-free” so far — knock on wood — but last time was diagnosed with gestational diabetes (which I am convinced was a crock, but that’s another post for another day)....

I mean, I know he loves me and enjoys my company and everything — or at least he does before I send him out to the bus stop each morning. Because at that point, the sweet little boy who gives me loads of hugs, kisses, and snuggles turns into a pint-sized Joe Cool complete with sunglasses and an attitude. He’s given up on fighting me when I walk him to the end of the driveway, but as soon as I turn him loose and let him run across the street to wait for the bus with the other kids — it’s like he somehow feels the need to offer up an excuse as to why his mother is so lame and uncool....
