A team of Japanese researchers just published a study that concluded that kissing dogs can lead to gum disease. I know. I’m disappointed, too. The scientists scraped the plaque off the teeth of 66 dogs and 81 humans, and then examined the contents under a microscope. Unfortunately, the bacteria that came from the canine mouths was filled with the things that cause gum disease in humans — yet there were smaller percentages of the same bacteria in the humans....

As of October 1, parents in North Tonawanda, New York, can be fined $250 and sentenced to 15 days in jail if their child violates the city’s curfew or any other city law, including bullying, two times or more within a 90 day period....
One recent study published in the Journal of Consumer Psychology explained that researchers found substantial evidence that suggests parental biases between their kids. Though, instead of these biases being based on things like age or common interest, they were centered around gender. According to the study, mothers have a tendency to prefer their daughters and fathers have a tendency to prefer their sons. The reasoning behind these biases had little to do with conscious maliciousness or favoritism, and was instead more about instincts and what they identify with....

I have learned the hard way how important is it to be prepared just in case. They say optimists are always late because they perceive they have more time than they really do. Well I also tend to forget that potty accidents are possible. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gone on a trip only to realize I forgot to pack Pull-Ups. Or oops… My son just fell asleep on a long road trip and he’s totally not wearing his Pull-Ups....
