It doesn’t matter how much you love him, how long you’ve been married, or how good of a father he is. He can be the most generous, caring person. But he’s only human. As his wife, you have to pick and choose your battles. Pick one or two, or maybe even five, of his bad habits and try to change them. But remember, it’s not easy to teach an old, snoring Mastiff new tricks....

While you’ve probably attended many of these in your lifetime, hosting one is a whole other ball game. You can’t hang by the bar while the bride opens gifts. You can’t “sneak away” to text your mom about the god-awful thing Aunt Millie said. You have to be a present, gracious hostess — and do a lot of prep work to even get to that point. Before you start feeling overwhelmed, try not to panic....

But while the day a divorce is finalized is a day of sadness for some women, it is a day of freedom and maybe even joy for others. It’s interesting that we have a big ceremony to celebrate the start of the marriage, but what do we do to mark the end of one? We talked to 11 divorced women who all vividly remember how they spent the first day on the new chapter in their life....

The holiday rituals we’ve included here are a mix of brand-new activities we’d never heard before, and old-school ideas that have been forgotten by many. (Let’s bring them back!) From feeding reindeer to giving toys back to Santa to share with others, these activities and crafts will keep the excitement rolling all month and create some sweet memories families can honor for generations. The eighth grader was asked to define BMI (or body mass index) in a take-home assignment, then calculate — and write down — her own BMI.
