Last week, Steffanie Strazzere and Kelseyanna Fitzpatrick from Kat Von D’s personal team of makeup artists came to the Revelist office for an up-close demo of Super Brow, a range of rainbow eyebrow pomades that just launched today (along with a ton of other brow stuff). And now, I want to throw all my old brow tools in the garbage… for a multitude of reasons. Wrong. Just think about it: Buying Scarlet (that bright poppy red) and White Out to mix together could create SO many different hues of red and pink. You could use Satellite and Graphite to create navy. You could create turquoise with Satellite and Daffodil (yellow). The list goes on and on and on… my point is you should NOT feel creatively limited by owning even just two of these shades. Both brushes have deep divots in them, which allow the brushes to pick up more pomade and spread it not just on top of brow hairs, but through them. Their handles are also made to function as spatulas you can use to easily pick up and mix pomade with minimal clean-up and cross-contamination. It could actually last through a zombie apocalypse. In fact, you will likely have trouble removing it with just cleanser. At the end of our shoot, Strazzere had difficulty removing the mixtures on her hand, even with an artillery of makeup removing wipes at the ready.
For easy removal, she recommended anything with an oil base, micellar water and coconut oil especially, to melt it all away at the end of the day. At home, I had luck with my go-to Clinique cleansing balm. Turns out, Super Brow makes an amazing transfer-proof winged eyeliner. Plus, many of the shades have a matching or similar Everlasting Liquid Lipstick or Studded Kiss Lipstick and can be used for monochromatic looks (like the all-red one pictured above). That’s a great way to add fun to your go-to black liner and nude/red lipstick combo. You get my point, though: Having the proper tools to transform my look into something unimaginable has inspired me to do so with vigor. And I’m now confident even without the part of my look that attracts the most compliments. I cannot convey just how thin and precise these brushes are. Razor thin. So thin, none of our camera lenses could focus on them when turned to the side. I’ve searched high and low for a brow brush thin enough to allow me to paint hairs on one by one, and these are the only ones that have succeeded at that.
