So as we always do, we had to ask: How true is the sizing? How practical are these pieces? Are they worth the splurge? Luckily for us, Swimsuits For All sent us the entire collection so we could see for ourselves. You can tell just by looking at these pictures that the Water Slide’s bottoms ran a little tight, but not so much that I felt I should size up. However, these were so high cut that I felt I was on constant wedgie alert, and the thick hem at the waist cinched me in more than I cared to be. Sizing has been a little tricky with other Swimsuits For All collaborations due solely to the fact that I’m broad-shouldered and most tops only have one hook in the back. This new addition, which was on most of this collection’s tops, solved almost all of my sizing problems. You’ll notice after seeing all of these suits that this collection was designed for customization. Gabi, you’ve DONE this! This suit fit Kala’s 5'10" body like a glove — a rarity for taller babes who like one-piece suits. It was also entirely true to her true size and the measurements on SFA’s size chart. Gabi’s collection is all about a customized experience — and we love that. This suit was cut almost exactly the same as the Rockies Underwire Bikini from Gabi’s last collection, but even truer to size. The bottom is your basic high-wasted brief, and the top fits exactly like a standard demi-cup bra.  The only caveat of this suit was its boobs. Gabi’s collections only feature suits with a D/DD or above cup — I’m a C and just barely filled those suckers. Even for my pale ass. It was actually my perfect swimsuit, for a multitude of reasons. My breasts aren’t on the saggy side, but they definitely aren’t perky, either. It’s always made strapless bras and swimsuits a hassle for me — but this suit wasn’t. Both the top and bottom of this suit had strong hems that held everything in place, and that cutesy little ruffle served as blanket under which I could sweep all my boob insecurities. “It was so vibrant, and bold, and I love a stand out piece,” she said. “I could have used a little more coverage in the bra-cup area, though.” Because I live in a public commuter city and have to take a train to get to the beach, I absolutely despite “cover-ups” that are completely see-though. But this one was actually decently opaque. With a solid crop top, I could actually see myself wearing this around Coney Island. For once in my life, I found a maxi skirt that was actually long enough for my 5'11" body. That’s amazing for me, but unfortunately I can’t say this skirt would be easy to walk around the beach in if you’re much shorter than I am. In terms of color and styling, this swimsuit was practically MADE for me. It was Marylin Monroe meets Morticia Adams, AKA everything I’ve ever wanted to be in my life. The tummy straps on this newest suit were completely customizable, by the way. I could’ve worn them in a basic halter, or tied a bow in the front — but I just revel in any chance I get to accentuate my sternum tattoo so immediately went for the front cross. In fact, I ended up adjusting this suit in the back because it covered a little too much — but that’s just because I have hip dips and like when they’re a little out in the open. But the color disparity wasn’t off-putting in the slightest to her, because her deep skin tone actually glowed in this pink. The underwire top supported her bust, and the cross-body straps gave her that little something ~extra~. All in all? chef’s kiss Sizing aside, these pieces are original and very easy to make unique to you using their many practical details. As opposed to other SFA collections we’ve tried, this one has suits that are both Instagram-friendly AND safe to run around a beach in without flashing anyone. TLDR: It’s cute and practical, and ordering online is a breeze. EXCELLENT. Well done, Gabi. You’ve done plus-size people the world over proud with this line.
