Women like pockets but clothing for women rarely has pockets that are functional. As a woman, pockets are so foreign to me that even when my clothing has pockets, I don’t use them. I am honestly scared of using my pockets because something might go wrong? What if everything falls out! Pockets are embarrassingly alien to me because they are so rare. Enter: Poche Posh, a clothing line designed by two women and pocket enthusiasts. A post shared by PochePosh.com (@pocheposh) on Aug 16, 2018 at 6:54am PDT In the 1800s, pockets were less popular and replaced with purses. Purses became increasingly ornate and decadent, but remained teeny tiny. The accessory was reserved for women of a certain class, and those women didn’t leave the house with money. That’s what men were for. Then the 1960s arrived and basically since then the ethos of fashion has remained the same: women have to be skinny because “reasons.” And pockets went away again. But with women reclaiming their independence in feminism’s fourth wave, pockets are making a comeback. Pockets are making so much of a comeback that women are making their own damn pockets now!
